Lagbot ("Lagbot", "we", "us") provides a WhatsApp-based AI assistant ("Nova") that helps businesses reply to customers, take orders, and manage their operations. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Lagbot mobile app and connected services, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Who this applies to

This policy covers business users who sign up for and operate a Lagbot account. It also explains how we handle the customer messages that flow through your connected WhatsApp number so that Nova can respond to them on your behalf.

Information we collect

• Account information — the email address you sign up with, and authentication details managed by our auth provider.
• Business profile — your business name, description, persona settings, operating details, and other configuration you enter to set up Nova.
• Catalogue & operations data — products, prices, inventory, orders, and sales records you add or that are generated as you use the service.
• Customer conversations — the WhatsApp messages (and any media) exchanged between your customers and your connected number, which Nova reads in order to generate replies and process orders.
• Usage & device data — basic technical information such as app version, device type, and log/diagnostic data needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use your information

• To operate the service — connecting your WhatsApp, running Nova, and showing your dashboard.
• To generate AI replies and route conversations on your behalf.
• To process and track orders, inventory, and payments.
• To provide support, send service emails, and keep you informed about your account.
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

AI processing

To generate responses, relevant message content and your business configuration are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic, the maker of Claude). This processing happens only to produce replies for your conversations. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your customers' message content to train third-party AI models.

Service providers we share data with

We share data only with the providers needed to run Lagbot, each acting on our instructions:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting for your account and business data.
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI generation of Nova's replies.
• WhatsApp / Meta — the messaging channel your customers use to reach you.
• Resend — transactional and account email delivery.
• Paystack — payment processing, where you enable payments.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Lagbot, our users, or the public. We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you close your account, we delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations.

Security

We use industry-standard measures — including encryption in transit and access controls scoped per business — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information and to limit access to only what is necessary.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you can object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us at the address below and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Children

Lagbot is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in regions outside your own. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards to protect your information consistent with this policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
